  • Personalised insights based on your transaction data, banking products and features

If you have a joint account or an additional credit card holder, they may also receive notifications if they have registered for Push notifications on their device.2

A third party who has been granted access to a Bump Savings or Choice Youth account can receive real-time mobile push notifications for deposits to and withdrawals from the accounts.

When you sign in to the latest version of the Westpac App you’ll be prompted to set up notifications. If you want to make changes or add notifications to a new account, you can follow the instructions to set up push notifications.

  • If you are installing the Westpac App for the first time - you'll get the latest version. Ensure you allow notifications when prompted and sign into the app and you will be automatically subscribed for alerts.
  • If you are using an existing version of the Westpac App you may be on an old version which won’t support Push notifications. Make sure you update to the latest version of the app.
  • If you have the latest version of the Westpac App - Search for Notifications and marketing and follow the prompts to set up notifications.

Credit card repayment reminders can be enabled for single and additional credit cards. You will need to subscribe each card to receive notifications for that card. Each card holder must enable Push notifications on their device.

If you have a Joint Account or are an Additional Card Holder on a Credit Card, you will receive transaction alerts for transactions on that account or card, as long as you have registered for push notifications on your device.

No, you will need to go to Notification settings within the Westpac App and update your notification preferences for the new account(s).

The most common reasons are:

  • You previously selected a different notification preference – you will need to search for Notification settings within the Westpac App to change your notification type to Push notifications.
  • You have not allowed Push notifications in your device operating system permissions – go to your device settings and update the notification preferences for the Westpac App.

Up to 10 Devices can be registered for Push notifications. If you have reached this threshold, you must remove one of the previous devices to be able to receive notifications on a new device.

You can do this by navigating to Notification settings>Manage push notification devices and tapping Remove for the device(s) you wish to no longer receive push notifications.

You can do this by navigating to Notification settings>Manage Push notification devices and tapping Remove for the device that has been lost/stolen.

This may occur when the date or time on your device is incorrect. Once you correct the date and time open the Westpac App and try again.

This may occur occasionally, as Push notifications are sometimes faster than the updates to your transaction account information. Please wait a few minutes, sign into your App again to view your deposited funds.

Yes, your details remain confidential and secure. By registering for Push notifications, this gives peace of mind and helps you stay informed of changes to your contact details, when your new or replacement of lost/stolen credit card is on the way, Daily Payment Limits, Account Deposit and Withdrawals as well as Card due to expire.  For more information view our Online Banking terms and conditions.

If you have started receiving transaction Push notifications through the Westpac App, and these are now duplicated with your wallet notifications when you make a payment on your device, we recommend turning off your notifications through your Android or Apple wallet settings.

To do this, open your mobile wallet settings, select your card to update and follow the prompts. By keeping your Westpac payment notifications on, you will continue to receive notifications when money goes in and out of your account.

A third party who has been granted access to a Bump Savings or Choice Youth account can receive real-time mobile push notifications when account transactions occur. Where a third party account is included in a customer’s Money Management filters, they will also receive push notifications with insights relevant to those features and transactions.

A third party to a Bump or Choice Youth account can log onto their own Westpac App, search ‘Notifications’ and following the prompts. If you don’t have third party access, you can visit us in branch.

You can remove the third party's access in Online Banking on a PC or laptop or if you are under the age of 12, you can visit us in branch.

You can opt-out of receiving push notifications by turning off the Receive offers via Online Banking toggle, located under your Profile’s settings > Communication > Notifications and marketing.
